Ludo was born in France in 1965. In the late 70’, his dad was France’s Southwest sales manager for ELF MOTO. |
| That led Ludo to become an avid motorcycle Enduro racer during the early 1980’s, eventually leaving high school to pursue racing as a potential full time “career”.
His racing career consists of multiple French regional championships In the greater southwest of Aquitaine & Midi Pyrenees as well as finishing in the top 3 in French National Enduro. (3rd Junior in 83/ 3rd 80cc National in 84, 3rd 250 National in in 85, 1st Open National rider in Trefle Lozerien 1987 / 13th Scratch-Overall etc…) |
| In 1988 he took a position as a road representative for a motocross equipment company in Europe which eventually lead him to move to the United States in 1989. Ludo used this move to begin building his career in the motocross accessory industry, spending several years working in both San Francisco and Manhattan Beach, CA as a free-lance export manager for companies such as FMF, IMS, TroyLee Designs, etc…..
In 1991 he created his first company, BRAKING USA, the US division of BRAKING International, an Italian Brake Manufacturing Company. The strong US presence helped BRAKING to become the leader in aftermarket motorcycle brake discs worldwide. In 1998 Ludo sold BRAKING back to the Italians to allow him time to focus on two new ventures: ONE Industries and TAG Metals. Founded in 1997, ONE Industries revenues grew to $20 Million in 10 years, becoming an opinion leader in helmet design, graphics and moto fashion. TAG metals grew to be a very well respected and looked upon technical brand as well. In 2007, Ludo sold successfully both companies to the Triple7 Private Equity Group. In addition, Ludo is married and the father of 3 children, lives in Mission Beach of San Diego, is now a consultant for a portfolio of companies in action sports and motorcycle industries. and has renewed his passion for motorcycle racing and is currently participating in world rally races worldwide. He won the Rally Do Café in 2001, got 4th overall in World Round Rally Dos Sertoes in Brazil 2005, 9th overall in Pharaoh’s rally 2008. |
| This is his first Dakar participation and as a 3rd rider of Team ELF, the goal is to support David Casteu in his quest for victory and to be on the finish podium to celebrate with the rest of the team. |
